Making themselves heard!

Late last month I had the honour of presenting pupils of Rhos Primary School who had been elected by their classmates to be members of Llais yr Ysgol with their certificates and badges. Myself and Cllr Marcia Spooner, who represents Rhos and sits as Chair of Governors at the school congratulated the pupils on their election and wished them well in the year ahead.

School investment welcomed and celebrated

It was a pleasure to attend the official opening of new classes and Welsh immersion centre at Ysgol Gymraeg Pontardawe last Friday with Cllr Chris Williams, Mayor of Neath Port Talbot, NPT Council Leader Cllr Stephen Hunt and Deputy Leader Cllr Alun Llewelyn, NPT Cabinet Member for Education Cllr Nia Jenkins, and Governors - and hear the pupils perform.

Plaid Cymru MS calls for accessibility improvements at local heritage sites

Sioned Williams, Member of the Senedd for South Wales West, called on the Welsh Government to look at how accessibility can be improved at Neath Abbey.

The call followed a statement on community engagement with Cadw sites made in the Senedd by Dawn Bowden, Deputy Minister for Art, Sport and Tourism, where the recent work partnership working between Cadw and Dŵr-y-Felin Comprehensive School was highlighted and praised.
