Me, Myself and I

In the Welsh Government’s Dementia Action Plan, many pages are dedicated to the things that we can all do to reduce our chances of developing dementia, delay its onset, and how we can reduce the stigma and discrimination that can result in people being reluctant to seek help and advice.

This morning I had the pleasure of visiting Me, Myself and I Neath Port Talbot, sitting in with and chatting to members of the friendship group.

From a shop front venue in 2013 to now filling out the former Brynhyfryd Primary School in Briton Ferry, Me, Myself and I are a community hub providing a wide variety of services including emotional support, reassurance and opportunities for a person living with dementia and/or their families to socialise in a warm and welcoming setting.

The Welsh Government has said that it wants Wales to be a place where people with dementia feel understood, engaged, included and valued. In that case, they should visit Me, Myself and I – where that vision is already a reality.
