Sioned Williams, Plaid Cymru Member of the Senedd for South Wales West has congratulated a long standing community group following their successful Summer Fun Day.
Forward 4 Fairyland is a volunteer led residents' association which provides support for people living in the Fairyland estate in Neath. Their recent summer fun day saw activities and games for all the family, refreshment stalls and a raffle as well as information stands from many organisations such as Tai Tarian Housing Association, Communities for Work, NPT Skills and Training, Boys and Girls Club Youth Work, NPT Childcare Offer and Calan DVS.
Sioned Williams MS said:
"It was great to go along to the Forward 4 Fairyland summer fun day in Neath and speak to residents, association members and support organisations. Thankfully the rain held off which gave everyone the chance to relax and have fun and also ensure the community had easy access to useful and important support information.
"Groups like Forward 4 Fairyland are so important in building a sense of community and belonging and I congratulate them for their work and determination to make a difference for members of their community especially given the hard times people are facing given the cost of living crisis."
Forward 4 Fairyland Chair Margaret Matthews Davies said:
What a brilliant day was had by all the children really enjoyed and this is what it's all about bringing the community together. We would like to thank everyone for the help in making this fun day possible, we would like to thank all the different organisations that turned up, and also would like to thank Sioned Williams MS who turned up to give us support. Thank you to everyone who helped, especially Luke who arranged it all. “

“It was great to see all the families come and join in, the children had an amazing time, and it was a great day for the community - it was another successful event put on by Forward4Fairyland. Thankfully the rain held off most of the day.
We would also like to thank all the organisations that supported our Family Fun Day, especially Neath Town Council who made a donation to the overall cost of the fun day, and special thanks to Roxanne from Tai Tarian who donated a range of garden games, as part of their Community benefits scheme, these were a great hit by the children and were thoroughly enjoyed, these will now be used at all future events. Looking forward to the next one!”
