Banking services matter.
Despite the rise of online banking, there are many people and businesses across our communities that depend upon quick and convenient access to in-person services.
Lloyds Bank have announced plans to close their Pontardawe branch in late 2025. As the last bank serving the Swansea Valley, the loss of this branch would leave communities across the valley without convenient access to a bank.
Sioned Williams MS, along with Pontardawe Councillors Anthony Richards and Heath Davies, as well as other Plaid Cymru councillors in the Swansea Valley oppose this decision and will fight to save banking services.

I strongly oppose the decision to close Lloyds Bank in Pontardawe as it will negatively impact many residents and businesses that depend upon in-person services.
I call upon Lloyds to review this decision and ensure that banking services remain in the Swansea Valley.
